stables. Heads west on a downhill grade toward Tennessee Cove at the

turnout with as many as 190 runners competing in the kickoff race
of the year.
Directions - From Highway 101 near Mill Valley take Hwy. 1/Shoreline
offramp toward Mill Valley and Stinson Beach. Approximately 1/3 mile
from freeway, turn west on Tennessee Valley Road. Follow about 2 miles
to end and park.
**Note for 2009 race! - We are
urging ALL Tamalpans to carpool to the race, as the Park service is
considering revoking our race permit, due to overcrowded parking conditions
on race day. Please carpool from the Manzanita Commuter parking lot,
or park at the large gravel lot on Tennessee Valley road a 1/2 mi.

Mt Burdell (Lower Slopes) |
~5.1 Mi |
Results - Hide Race Details
Course: The course is all on trails or fire roads and is a counter clockwise loop on the
southern face of Mt Burdell. There will be some climbing, but nothing extreme. You will
see cows, hidden lakes and secluded vales in the middle of the mountain. The last 1.5 miles
are downhill (which must mean that there are up hills in the beginning). The views are
spectacular, both of the wildflower fields you will pass through and of Marin.
Directions: Hwy 101 to San Marin Drive exit, west about 1.3 miles to San Andreas Drive,
right up the hill about 1/2 mile, park near the trail head. Novato. No bathrooms near the
start of the race, so plan accordingly. An Open House Potluck will be held at Edda and
Bernie’s home following the race. They live at 76 San Domingo Way, just southeast of the
course. All are welcome. No pets, please.

The September TCRS takes us back to a location we haven't visited in over a decade -- the Tiburon Ridge.

to the ridge. The views are spectacular and the footing is mostly fire road with a bit of single track.
Driving Directions: Exit 101 at the Paradise Road/Tamalpais Ave exit in Corte Madera. Go east on Paradise
approximately one mile to Prince Royal Drive. Turn right. Go 1/4 mile to Granada Park. There is ample
