urging ALL Tamalpans to carpool to the race, as the Park service is
considering revoking our race permit, due to overcrowded parking conditions
on race day. Please carpool from the Manzanita Commuter parking lot,

the Levees just North of St. Vincent's (we will be running along part of
the old St. Vincent's TCRS Course); Mike Holland, (famed course

final 400!)
The little kids will run approximately 1 1/2 miles along mostly paved
road toward the open spaces, wetlands, and bird sanctuary that border
the Las Gallinas Valley Water Treatment plant and wetlands restoration
area.
The San Rafael location is close to the freeway with plenty of parking
and available facilities: Come on out to McGinnis on Sunday morning,
register yourself and your kids, (or your neighbors kids); we again
encourage the parents to come out and run the course with their kids!
Bring the jogger strollers, we'll bring the treats and support!

Lucas Valley/Smith Ranch Exit and drive East to McGinnis park, go to
the left toward the batting cages. See you all out there.

Course and Driving Details
Course: We will run for a short time up Bahia Dr. , (just about a ¼ mile climb) to the open space entry to the Rush Creek Bahia Trail
Upon entering the wide, run able fire road, trail, we continue to climb (at a more manageable grade) until approximately ¾ mile into the race.
The trail rolls up and down at the crest of the hill. Enjoy some pick ups in this flatter part of the run, as you begin to descend into the Rush Creek Marsh area.
At the bottom of the hill, we will turn left, circling around the pond and making our way back to the end of the Rush Creek trail adjacent to the Bay and wetlands.
Much of this part of the course is covered, the dirt flat, packed and run able (with the exception of the random rocks and roots).
After the loop around the pond, the return run home can seem very long, straight and flat in parts and interval surges of hills forcing the effort.
We will end right where we begin, just on the road.
Directions: take 101 North to the San Marin/ Atherton exit, and travel a couple of miles East to Bugea Lane, turn LEFT.
Bugea becomes Bahia Dr., (stay to the left); travel up and down about one mile to the beginning of the race
