2005 TCRS # 8 Results

Corte Madera Levees, Distance 3.53 miles
September 11, 2005
88 finishers - 26 women, 62 men

With trumpets blaring, Brad O'Brien snatched Stick One for his maiden TCRS victory, a solid minute over runner-up Ryan Stever. There would then be 26 finishers within the next 3 minutes. Heidi Meyer, Lillie O'Reilly, Natalie Simi, Edda Stickle, Bernie Hollander, Frank Ruona and the entire finish-line crew thrive on accurately recording such mass arrivals. Young Jacque Taylor triumphed over a women's field that included this year's Dynamic Duo, Karen Steele and Liz Shortino, and places 6 through 12 would all be within a half-minute of each other. It was a surprisingly warm morning on a spanking new, pancake-flat course which the GPSers put at a shade over 3.5 miles. The shopping mall setting across the way appealed to some more than others, but the marsh itself made for an attractive course, other than having to fight off all the herons and egrets. We now rest up for the 10-K and 5-K Club Championships in late October and November. - J. Myers
