Congrats to Tamalpa’s Meg Arauzo Conquering the Trails in Colorado!

While many of us were enjoying a lazy summer day in late July (sipping beer by the fireside), Tamalpa’s very own Megan Arauzo was out climbing snow covered mountains and crossing mosquito laden creeks, and pacing through beautiful wildflower-blanketed meadows, deep in the Rocky Mountains in North Central Colorado. Megan has been a regular at some of our practice Dipsea runs and Ultra Marathons, and paced Moriah “Silverbelt” Buckley in the Western States 100 miles, and, like Moriah, is a truly amazing and inspirational runner to get to know. And from Megan, herself…”Sometimes I do things that scare me – not because I’m a thrill seeker, but because I crave growth, courage, and the confidence to take on hard things in my life. I am eternally grateful to ultrarunning and mountains for this priceless gift!

The 2019 Castle Peak 100k was a rough day for me, but I persevered, made friends along the way, and kept moving. Strength to me is having the courage to keep going even when you think you can’t or just don’t want to. Never give up, even if it’s not your day or you’re feeling uncomfortable. I’m so proud of all my friends who crossed the finish line of one of the toughest 100ks around! I loved sharing miles with some of you and just knowing you were out there helped push me along!

Thank you to my amazing pacer, maestra de español, and photographer Moriah! I surely would have toppled down that mountain without you!
