Tamalpa entered 4 teams in the Oakland Marathon Relay, a PAUSATF Road Racing Grand Prix Team Race. Our first team finisher was our Tamalpa Men’s Master’s Team (M40-49) consisting of Sergio Higareda, Jacob Dinardi, Andrew Krone & Juan Rodriguez who took second place with a time of 2:49:47, finishing behind the Excelsior Men’s Master’s Team. Next for Tamalpa was the Tamalpa Men’s Super-Senior Team (M60-69) consisting of Tom O’Reilly, Keith Duncan, Roberto Donaire & John Hirschberger with a time of 2:56:25 to take first place in their age group. The Tamalpa Women’s Super-Senior Team was our next finisher with a time of 3:33:24, as Danielle Herrerias, Mary Wells, Lanore Bergenske & Tricia Wallace took first place in their age group. Finally, our Tamalpa Men’s Veteran Team (M70-79) consisting of Len Goldman, Hans Schmid, David McCormack & Fred Martin won their age group with a time of 3:43:00.
We had four Tamalpa Runners competing as individuals in the Half Marathon and Marathon Races, also. Markelle Taylor was the first Male 40+ finisher in the Half Marathon with a time of 1:22:21. Carson Forter ran a strong 1:32:28. Verity Breen was the second F50+ finisher with a time of 1:35:04. And Lee Goins, running his first race for Tamalpa, finished in 2:08:43. In the Marathon Eduardo Vazquez ran a strong 3:07:09 and Erica Calderon, running her first marathon, finished in 4:01:28. The next Road Race on the PAUSATF Road Racing Grand Prix is the Credit Union SACTOWN Ten Mile Run on April 7, 2019.
