Course: Out and back hilly course starting at Tennessee Valley horse
stables. Heads west on a downhill grade toward Tennessee Cove at the
beach. First and last 3/4 mile is paved and the remainder is dirt
fire road. If rainy, mud adds new dimension to race. Usually has large
turnout with as many as 190 runners competing in the kickoff race
of the year.
Directions - From Highway 101 near Mill Valley take Hwy. 1/Shoreline
offramp toward Mill Valley and Stinson Beach. Approximately 1/3 mile
from freeway, turn west on Tennessee Valley Road. Follow about 2 miles
to end and park.
**Note for 2007 race! - We are urging
ALL Tamalpans to carpool to the race, as the Park service is considering
revoking our race permit, due to overcrowded parking conditions on
race day. Please carpool from the Manzanita Commuter parking lot,
or park at the large gravel lot on Tennessee Valley road a 1/2 mi.
down the road from the stables. Thanks for your cooperation!

Course: Approximately 5 miles along the levees, flat with one challenging
hill.
Directions: Hamilton/Novato YMCA at Hangar 3
From 101 going north: Take the Hamilton Field Exit. At the
second stop light, take a right onto Main Gate Rd. Main Gate Rd. forks
at the visitor's center. Follow either fork through one stop sign.
At the second stop sign, turn right onto Hangar Ave. Look for monument
for Hangars 3 & 4 with YMCA sign. Follow signs in parking lot to very
back of Hangar 3. From 101 going south: Take the Ignacio/Entrada
Exit. At the stop light, go left (east) over 101. Take a right at
1st light onto Nave Dr. Go through 2 red lights. At the third light
take a left onto Main Gate Rd. Follow above directions.
*Note: There will be baby-sitting and bathroom
facilities available courtesy of the YMCA.
*Kevin O'Donnell and Karen Steele will again
be hosting a brunch after the February 25th Hamilton TCRS at their
home in Pacheco Valle. Good weather appears to be in the forecast
so we hope to use the patio and outdoor areas in order to accommodate
another large turnout like we had last year. Bottled water and great
coffee will be available, as well as a few yummy breakfast items.
Please plan on joining us and be sure to bring a food or drink item
to share with others. Also, if you have children, they are more than
welcome but please consider bringing some toys or games for them as
there will be a small play for their use. Flyers with directions will
be handed out at the run but they are posted here as well. Call if

Directions: From the TCRS, head west towards
101 and go over the freeway. Turn left at the stop sign, on Alameda
Del Prado Turn left at the first split, approximately ¼ mile past
the entrance to the townhouse community (still Alameda Del Prado)
and go past the Marin IJ Prairie Falcon Drive is about the 6th or
7th street on your right; you must park out on the street as there
is no guest parking at the end of the court We are at 33 Prairie Falcon
Drive , towards the end of the court, on the left

Course: ~ 5.87 mi. Start near the Tamalpais Valley Improvement Club,
(Marin Ave. & Flamingo rd.) Flat and paved for the first 1/2 mile
or so, then up the steep and windy Green Glen Way, to the deadend/trailhead.
Single-track continues up to the Miwok trail. Cross straight over
to the Miwok cutoff. Go on that until it meets the Miwok trail - about1/4
of a mile. Left on the Miwok Trail to junction with Coyote Ridge Trail
- also about 1/4 mile. Go on Coyote Ridge to the highest point on
the trail and turn around. Back down to the Miwok. Do NOT take the
cutoff. Stay on the Miwok past the water tank. Veer left at the junction
of the Miwok and County View fire road. Go about a 1/4 of a mile on
County View to a gate that enters the paved street (still County View
Road), and back down the ~1/2 mile steep paved road to the finish
at TVIC.
Directions: Take 101 to the Stinson Beach/Rte.
1 exit in Mill Valley. Proceed to Tennessee Valley road, turn left.
The T.V. Improvement Clubhouse is roughly 700 yards after the turn,
on the right, at the intersection of T.V. Road, and Marin ave. The
TCRS and Tamalpa Runners of the Year awards breakfast is after the
race at the Tamalpais Valley Improvement Club.

Hide Course and Driving Details
Course: ~ 5.2 mi. Race starts at the Jerry Russom park, open space
at the deadend / intersection of Canyon Oak and Old Lucas Valley Rd.,
head West along Old Lucas Valley Rd (abandoned, old paved road, toward
and onto Lucas Valley Rd.'s Shoulder for about 1/2 mile, heading west,
and up into the Terra Linda/Sleepy Hollow Open Space Preserve (this
is the back side of the trail that we've run for the last three March
TCRS' starting in Terra Linda and Sleepy Hollow. Up, up , up, until
the ridge where the course then heads along various ridge single tracks,
making it's way back east into the open spaces above Canyon Oak, eventually
descending into that Marin open spaces area where the race began.
Runners will gather at the Marinwood Fire Department, Community Center.
This is a nice pre Dipsea course; manageable, runnable, with some
difficult passing, difficult to navigate single track, which introduces
some beautiful views of the Terra Linda and Lucas Valley's. Run easy
to begin, gradually challenging each two to three minute climb; racers
will find various rests between these 'hill repeats'. The entire course
should be approx. a little over 5 miles.
Directions: 101 to Lucas Valley Road exit. Lucas Valley Road west
approx. 1 mile. (Cross over Las Gallinas ave., Miller Creek Rd. will
be the next main street on the right. Turn right on Miller Creek rd.,
the Marinwood Fire Dept./Community center will be right there at the
corner of Miller Creek rd. and Lucas Valley rd. Click here

Course and Driving Details
Course: Same as in previous years, starting in front of Dominican
College, following surface streets to fire road, to top of ridge.
Traverse north on ridgeline to another fireroad that leads to more
surface streets and a large steep downhill finish back at the college.
Directions:
From north: 101 to Central San Rafael exit, turn left at first signal,
(Mission) go under freeway & 1 block to first stop sign (Grand).
Turn left on Grand, and follow to morth end of Dominican College.
Race start is at corner of Grand and Mountain VIew.
From south: 101 to Central San Rafael exit, turn right at first signal,
(3rd st.) then left at next light (Grand). Follow Grand as described
above.

Course: We will be running along the rolling, scenic paved golf cart
paths at San Geronimo Golf Course, starting at 6:30 with a dinner/barbeque
to follow. Race course length approx. 4.5 miles. If you are planning
on golfing at 2:30pm before the race, call 415-218-2761 to reserve
your place on the tee.
Directions: From Hwy 101. From North: Continue on Hwy 101 North to
the Central San Rafael Exit. Take a right on 3rd street (which turns
into Red Hill Road) and then veer right onto Sir Francis Drake Blvd.
Continue on Sir Francis Drake Blvd., through Fairfax, and over White's

Directions: From Highway 101 North: Exit Paradise Drive. Turn right
at light onto Redwood Highway. Follow the road ~600 yards until you
see the gravel parking lot. (Across the street from Nordstroms) Turn
right into the lot.
From Highway 101 South: Exit Paradise Drive. Turn left at light onto
overpass. Follow Redwood Highway until you see the gravel parking
lot. Turn right into lot.

Course and Driving Details
Course: The Rush Creek TCRS is going to be on a rare Saturday morning
(same 9:00 AM start). The course is a wide equestrian trail, starting
up a challenging hill, cresting for a nice view of open spaces and
marsh lands. We will descend onto the flat, gentle rolling Rush Creek
Trail, The course will be a scenic out and back ‘lollypop’ course
looping along the west Bay Wetlands. This is a scenic route, offering
views of sea birds, open spaces, bay views (and, the freeway and cemetery).
This will be five miles of off-road, cross country style racing, with
one big up to start and another to finish.
Directions:Take Atherton Avenue East from Highway 101 in Novato.(Towards
Black Point) About a mile down Atherton (heading toward Highway 37),
take a left on Bugeia Lane, which becomes Bahia Drive. Go to the end
of Bahia, where you should find ample parking.

Course: This year's Sam Taylor event on will begin at Platform Bridge
Road (end of the Cross Marin Trail). Go under Sir Francis Drake Blvd
towards Sam P. Taylor Park (1.4 miles on the flat), turn right up
the Jewel Trail for approximately ¾ miles to the intersection with
the Ridge Trail. Stay left going uphill, continue ¼ mile until reaching
a gate (the turnaround) and retrace your steps to the start. The course
is approximately 5 to 6 miles with about 600 feet of additional gravitational
pull.
Directions: Take Sir Francis Drake Blvd west through Fairfax and
the San Geronimo Valley, past Lagunitas and Sam P. Taylor Park until
the base of the final big uphill at Platform Bridge Road. There is
ample parking there and the race will start and finish in this area.
Allow ½ hour of driving time from Fairfax to the start. (Approx. 13
miles from Fairfax to the start.)
**There will be no Pancake Breakfast this year
after the race. Two Birds Cafe in San Geronimo is highly recommended!

Course: Starts and finishes in front of the gymnasium. The actual
route is a mystery so it will be a suprise to all who don't join
the practice run a week before. BUT... it is fast and flat, good
news for those who feel like they've already gotten in their "hill
quota" for the year.
Directions: Off Highway 101 south, take the Lucky Drive exit
in Larkspur/Greenbrae and go west to Doherty Dr. Turn right on
Doherty and follow curve around school, turning into front parking
lot by the gym.
Heading north on 101, take the Lucky exit, right on Redwood Highway,
right on Wornum, right on Tamal Vista, left on Lucky Drive. Follow
to Doherty and continue as above. The address is 395 Doherty Dr.
If you're coming from Magnolia Street in Larkspur, turn onto
Doherty Dr at the stop light and follow about a half-mile to the
school
